youTHINK CYPT member participation opportunities

We are very excited to share that the Children and Youth Planning Table (CYPT) is hosting youTHINK, a day for local young people to come together and co-design a community child and youth well-being survey (learn more about the survey project). On February 22nd, a group of young people from across Waterloo Region will be joining the CYPT, UNICEF Canada, the Canadian Index of Wellbeing and the Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide input and insight into the development and marketing of the well-being survey.

All the details you need to know about youTHINK (including how to register)are available online.

We need the help of our CYPT members and partners to ensure this day is a success. There are a few different opportunities to support the day, outlined below.

EVENT PROMOTION

We need help getting the word out to young people!  Please promote the event to the youth and families in your programs.  youTHINK will be fun, interactive, a chance for local youth to shape a better tomorrow for themselves and all Canadians (plus, they can get volunteer hours and maybe win a prize)! It is easy to share:

  • There is a Poster/Flyer you can post in your space or share via email.
  • Feel free to copy and paste (or tweak to fit your program) the sample social media posts below and share with your networks.

MERCH AND PRIZES

We are hoping to offer merch or swag bags to each participant (roughly 100-120), as well as door prizes (10). Are you able to contribute any items for the merch bags and/or prizes to make this a memorable experience for the young people who participate?  We’ve heard youth’s concerns about environmental change so we are committed to making the event as green as possible. For the merch bags we are requesting any items (reusable products) you may be able to donate. For prizes, we are open to just about anything – gift cards, tickets or passes, the latest tech.

Contact Shannon McIntyre at ShMcIntyre@regionofwaterloo.ca if you think you may be able to support the day by donating mech or prizes.
