The Youth Impact Survey (YIS) is our community’s opportunity to hear directly from young people what their life is like in Waterloo Region. The survey is intended for youth ages 9-18 and it asks questions about nine dimensions of well-being.

 

The 2023 Youth Impact Survey has currently ended. The next Youth Impact Survey will happen in 2026!

The YIS Cycle

The Youth Impact Survey is more than just a survey! It’s a four-part cycle focused on continuous engagement of youth voices. Here are the four parts:

  1. Surveying: survey prep, survey is live
  2. Sharing the data: organizing data, publishing 10 data reports
  3. Action plan: Sense Making Sessions, youth recommend actions
  4. Action: Data in Action Report, implementing actions in the community, and the Youth Impact Project

This is a three-year cycle. The next Youth Impact Survey will happen in 2026.
