Recruitment has been underway for the next Co-Chair of the CYPT. We are happy to announce that Goranka Vukelich, Dean of Community Services at Conestoga College has been selected! Goranka’s career spans three decades across Canada and the United States where she has worked as an Educator, Education Consultant, Research Co-ordinator, Professor and Government Administrator. These varied experiences provided Goranka with first-hand knowledge about the capacity of education to inspire innovation, re-build communities and change lives. These experiences inspired a dedication to research and teaching excellence, and a commitment to engaging with the community to bring about change. Today, Goranka provides academic leadership to a number of programs in Human Service, Community Safety and Social Service Specialized Learning departments. In addition, Goranka has led several research projects focusing on areas of student mental health, community capacity building through early learning and child care, engaging students with learning challenges to integrate into college life and community, and workforce development.
Goranka will officially step into the role come September, and at that time, Debbie Engel will move into the Past Chair seat. Please welcome Goranka to her new role as CYPT Co-Chair!
I am excited to carry on the great work of the Children and Youth Planning Table as we work collaboratively to create the conditions for children and youth to become their best selves.
