The Kitchener Youth Action Council (KYAC) is currently accepting nominations for their youth awards! The awards recognize the contributions of young people in our community between the ages of 14-24. There are 10 individual categories and 1 group award.

There is also an award for a youth adult ally—an adult who gives of their time to help foster and support the development of young people. Every nominee is recognized at the event and receives a gift to celebrate their efforts.

The nomination process is very easy—just two questions—-click here to learn more about the award categories and submit a nomination.

Nominations deadline is March 29, 2019.

This is a great opportunity for members of the CYPT to walk the talk and do something tangible to meet our goals of:

  • Helping youth to feel valued, heard and included
  • Helping youth to have a strong sense of self-worth and identity and
  • Helping youth to see a positive future for themselves– feeling hopeful and optimistic for the future, having goals for the future that they are motivated by, believing their definition of success is attainable and being connected to something meaningful in the community.

The youth contributions to their community do not need to be earth-shattering or global.  Simple stories on small but mighty ways nominators have seen youth do good things so that we can shine a light on it and help the young person know that it is noticed and appreciated.
