2017 Annual Update

The 2017 Annual Report is available.

2017 was a big year for the Children and Youth Planning Table. We have a new vision, mission, logo and website!

  • Vision: Happy, healthy children and youth – today and tomorrow
  • Mission: To collectively mobilize as one system for children and youth in Waterloo Region that relentlessly strives to maximize wellbeing throughout generations.

We have established our 6 Shared Goals for Child and Youth Wellbeing, and developed a Shared Measurement Framework based on these 6 Goals.

Shared Goals for Child and Youth Wellbeing

We have seen our membership increase to 480 community partners, almost a 10% increase over 2016! Members are feeling well informed and engaged in the work of the Children and Youth Planning Table. Our working groups alone have contributed over 1600 hours to our shared work.

2017 was also an opportunity to develop new relationships. The Children and Youth Planning Table, as a member of the One Youth Advisory Team, supports the work of UNICEF Canada – ensuring our goals align with national priorities. We’ve connected with businesses in the local tech sector. Through our work with WorldVuze, we were able to hear from local children and youth and bring their voices directly into our work.

We are excited about the work we’ve accomplished to date. We look forward to new opportunities, connections and activities in 2018 to continue moving the needle on child and youth wellbeing in Waterloo Region!
